Hygiene Instruction

Hygiene instructions are expected to include at least the following:

Inspectors are required to verify whether the hygiene instructions have been implemented and everybody on the site complies with them. (AF 3.2.4)

Question (QQAF025)
During an on-site inspection the CB inspector observes that all the hygiene instructions are visibly displayed in the predominant language of the workers. However, during interviews he discovers that the majority of the workers are illiterate. Do you think this situation is sufficient to inform the workers?
Yes, because GLOBALG.A.P. requires that the hygiene instructions are provided in the predominant language of the workers.
No, because the workers will not be able to read the instructions. In this case, pictures would be better.
This does not matter as long as the workers have received training on the hygiene instructions.
Correct!
Incorrect!

Hygiene instructions are there to remind workers to implement the hygiene rules. The written instructions are quite useless if the workers can’t read them. In this case, pictures would be more effective.
